Since my mom is no longer with us, we tell LG that her Grandma L (Mommy’s mommy) is in her heart.

Today she told me that her grandma has “a bed and a blanket and a pillow and she’s sleeping inside my heart!”

I think I like that picture. :)

“I’m a good girl.  I’m not in trouble.  I’m okay.”  It almost always means she’s been doing something she wasn’t supposed to and she’s probably in trouble.  But it’s pretty endearing anyway. ;)

…and wander around the house in only a shirt, pair of undies, and Dora socks (none of which go together) and not feel the least self-conscious about your fashion statement.

Stub your toe on a chair, then run across the room on the stubbed toe because “you gotta kiss it Mom”.

Little Girl says she is going to grow bigger and bigger and BIGGER! And that I am going to grow littler and littler.

There is no better way to start the day than by hearing the sound of your husband’s voice and your child’s laughter echoing down the hall.

When I tell LG that she is “pretty”, she tells me “No, I’m beautiful!”

Just a moment ago I walked into her room, got a whiff of her, and the following conversation ensued:

Me: I think I’d better change you - you’re pretty stinky.

LG: No, it’s a beautiful stinky!

I have been trying to write a post all day, but it just ain’t happening. I keep deleting what I have and starting over.

I called this post writer’s block, but I don’t really think it’s writer’s block as much as it is too many thoughts whirling through my mind that I can’t put into coherent thought. Maybe a good night’s sleep will make some sense of them.

Since LG’s birthday is making me a ball of stress because I don’t know how to get everything done and fit everything in, I think we should just start celebrating her birthday when she was supposed to be born.

January 25 is a much less stressful time don’t you think? I’ll show her who’s boss! Little Miss I Had to Come Eight Weeks Early. HA! ;)

Mike: Does Melody have whiskers?

LG: Yeah! Just like Daddy!

LG said the first four letters of her name. So then Mike tried to get her to say the rest.

Mike: How do you spell [insert name here]?

LG: With a pencil!

Two words you don’t want to hear your 2 1/2 daughter say as she’s running around the house without clothes prior to getting in the bathtub: “I leak!”

Spend half the afternoon with your hand stuck under a sheet pretending its a baby, complete with sound effects.

According to the news report I just watched on a hiker being rescued from Piestewa Peak, the Phoenix Fire Department conducts more mountain rescues than any other fire department in the nation. And you thought this was just a boring old desert didn’t you?

Every once in awhile, I surf to a site where there is a curse word prominently displayed somewhere on the page, and if LG is looking over my shoulder, I hurriedly click away from it. And then I remember. She can’t read yet. Silly me.
