Thanksgiving Theme and Flashback Friday

Filed under: Disorganization,Flashback Friday — Karin at 10:54 am on Wednesday, November 23, 2005

I am putting my Thanksgiving theme up now lest I forget in all the hubbub of getting ready for tomorrow. Because I’m not an expert at css, it may look weird to you – I haven’t looked at it on internet explorer and I know IE sometimes does bizarre things to code. Anyway, if the text is on top of the left border, just stretch your window out a bit more and it should fix itself. Sorry I’m not better at figuring this stuff out yet, but it will only be up a couple of days anyway.

Flashback Friday is taking the week off since I figure everyone is going to be too busy with holiday guests and shopping and decorating to want to play anyway. But it will be back next week, so don’t forget!

Flashback Friday – ER and I don’t mean the TV show

Filed under: Flashback Friday — Karin at 10:57 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2005

It’s Friday. And I’m especially glad because my husband has no band gigs this weekend so we can actually have some fun. But, the topic this week is not so fun – it’s stitches and plaster casts and anesthesia – childhood injuries and surgery. Or if you’re one of the lucky ones who never had any of those as a child you can talk about your kid’s booboos or silly stuff you did when you were grown up. And if you don’t have any stories at all to share, I’ve got a little snake out in the yard to keep you company. JUST KIDDING! So, please leave your comment or trackback so we can all commiserate together. (Read on …)

Flashback Friday Theme O’ the Week

Filed under: Flashback Friday — Karin at 11:49 am on Wednesday, November 16, 2005

In honor of A, Theresa’s very brave daughter, this week’s theme asks you to remember a time when you had a broken bone or had to get stitches or maybe had an operation (hopefully nothing worse than a tonsillectomy) as a child. If you’re one of the lucky few and that never happened to you (personally? I have a whole smorgasbord to choose from), then feel free to write about your child’s experience or any experience you might have had as an adult. And if you have never experienced any of those things as a child, an adult, or a parent? Well, you are one lucky dude or dudette and you need to bottle your karma and sell it on the internet.

As always, remember to leave your link in a comment or a trackback on Friday. In the meantime, send all your feel better soon thoughts to Miss A!

No, of course I didn’t forget! I was just really busy yesterday! And, umm…well…yeah, honestly, I forgot. Oops. But never fear! I remembered finally! So this week’s theme is food. Not just any food but comfort food. Was there a meal that you got on special occasions? Was there a certain food your mom would make you when you were sad or sick? Was there a special dish that only Grandma made the right way? Whatever the case, think about your favorite comfort food or foods and tell us what makes them so very special. Post it in your blog or in the comments on Friday and then leave a comment here to tell us where to find it or send a trackback. I can’t wait to hear your stories! :D

This week’s theme comes to us from Theresa’s husband Mike. Thanks Mike! And if you have a theme suggestion for Flashback Friday, send it to me at flashbackfriday at three-part-harmony dot com and hurry cuz I’m running out of ideas!

Flashback Friday Theme O’ the Week

Filed under: Flashback Friday — Karin at 11:38 am on Wednesday, October 26, 2005

You know what’s coming don’t you? Of course you do! After all, if there’s a holiday, we may as well take advantage of it. Okay dear readers, on Flashback Friday post your Halloween stories. And I’m not gonna be picky. You can use stories about your kids, yourself when you were young, or even yourself when you were all grown up. Something funny. Something scary. Something crazy. Something weird and unbelievable. Something to entertain us on this weekend before the big day because our kids (okay not mine because she’s too little to get it yet) are probably driving us crazy with their anticipation. So, on Friday, post your lovely anecdotes and then come back here and leave a comment with your link or send a trackback. We await your tales of terror and torment with baited breath.

In honor of the fact that Theresa has started a Weekend Recipe Exchange, this week’s theme is Cooking Disasters or Could Have Been Disasters. Flashback Friday Theme of the Week

Filed under: Flashback Friday — Karin at 10:21 pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2005

Okay, my sentimental side wanted to do a pet theme this week, but my self-preservation side won out. We will do one at some point, but I think I need some more space before I read pet stories. So, instead, we’ll try a different type of animal. This week’s Flashback Friday theme will be: DATING! So, think of your favorite dating story, whether it be your first date, your worst date, your funniest date, your most romantic…whatever! It’s all up to you! Then post your comment here or send a trackback so we can all go read your stories. And don’t forget to steal that cool little button on the sidebar and use it!
