365 Days of Grace #53
Tonight was the Academy Awards Ceremony here in the US, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve imagined what it would be like to stand up there and accept an award, and you’ve imagined what you would say. I like to think I’d win an award for Best Song, so here are my five thank yous…
1. I’d thank all the songwriters who have inspired me with their beautiful words and haunting melodies.
2. I’d thank my two friends, Bass Girl and my BFF who untiringly listen to my songs and tell me what they like and sometimes what they don’t!
3. I’d thank my dad for instilling in me the love of music. And my mom for always reminding me that I can do anything I set my mind to.
4. I’d thank my daughter for being my inspiration. She is the song in my heart and everything I write is for her in so many ways.
5. And finally, I’d thank my husband, because without him I could never do what I love so much to do. He is my partner and my cheerleader, the one who brings my music to life.
There. If I ever manage to write an Oscar-winning song, you now know what I’ll say in my acceptance speech. ;)
