Dear Little Girl,
Today you turned 3 1/2 years old and we celebrated that by going to a Mommy and me dance class which you told me you “didn’t feel good about”. It seems that whenever you don’t want to do something nowadays, you tell us you “don’t feel good about” it. Like so: “I don’t feel good about eating chicken.” or “I don’t feel good about drinking water.” or “I don’t feel good about reading that book.” etc. And if it’s not that, then we hear “it’s not fair” which has replaced “it’s too late”. I think “it’s too late” disappeared after you got sick and tired of me singing Carole King to you over and over again. But, it didn’t work. Because I still sing Carole King to you, but I changed the words to “it’s not fair baby, no it’s not fair, but you really do have to do it”. Yes, I’m weird, but I guarantee you’ll be doing the same things to your kids 25 or 30 years from now. Just wait. (Read on …)
