Photo Essay: The Weed Jungle
Sunday seems to be the day we spend time in the back yard. This week it was Mike pulling the overgrown weeds that have taken over Melody’s dog run and our path to the big yard. You can tell we’ve gotten a good amount of rain this winter by the amount of weeds we have. They do make everything nice and green, though!
You will notice that Little Girl is wearing her gloves in several of these pictures. This has nothing to do with the temperature (which was in the 60s although overcast), and everything to do with the fact that her dad had his gloves on to pull weeds and she wanted to be just like him. ;)
Here I am sitting on LG’s jungle gym looking down. I think I need to polish my toenails. And I also notice that my cuffs on my jeans are uneven. I wasn’t going for a fashion statement, I just wanted to keep them from getting muddy…lol!
The weeds are taking over!
My little sprite jumping in the weeds. I love the vibrant colors…
Since the light was so gorgeous for photos yesterday, I wanted to get some action shots of LG and Melody, so I set my shutter speed at 1/500 so I could get some nice shots without the blur that I normally get because my subjects don’t want to be still for very long. I got some funny shots of Melody running (check out that tongue!)…
And of LG running…
This one is when she barreled into me for a hug (and I held her there for a sec so I could focus…lol)…
And inevitably, if we’re in the back yard, we must get some swinging time in! (It’s mighty difficult to be the swing pusher and the photographer at the same time!)
Mike at work…
And two more shots just because I like them…
