Random Catching Up (But with Photos!)
All those masses the week before last seriously took a toll on my mojo and it was all I could do to post anything last week, much less tell you about all the exciting things that went on. So without further ado, some very random catching up…(but yes, there are photos!)
Last Sunday (as in a week ago, not yesterday), the saguaro finally made its way to our house. They were going to call Mike at 6 am (which of course thrilled him to no end since he had a gig and was going to get home around 3 or so). But they ended up not calling until about 7:30 (which is still not great, but 4.5 hours of sleep is better than 3 right?).
It took them the better part of the day to move the thing, and they left our house sometime after 1 pm. So that should tell you how not easy it is to move a saguaro.
Mike did not take any pictures at the other house while they were digging it up and loading it (grr!), but we will not go there right now.
Here is what it looked like through my front window before the saguaro was transplanted…

The other big thing that happened in our life last week, was that Little Girl had her first “dance recital”. Picture somewhere around 40 2 - 4 year old little girls in pink leotards, tights and tutus with shiny sequined crowns on their heads running around the gymnasium at the local rec center. Half of them were doing “Baby Ballet” (which is for 3-4 year olds) and half were doing “Tiny Tots” (which is for 2-3 year olds).
I wasn’t quite sure if LG would freak out when she saw she had to dance in front of all those parents, but apparently the performance gene is genetic and she did her thing and didn’t freak out. She didn’t even run to mama (or papa) in the middle of her dance routine like she normally does at her dance class. She did a great job. Now, I’m not saying she actually did all the movements, but she did most of them and she was so darn cute. So proud!
Here is a picture of her the day before trying on her tutu and crown…

Here she is kissing Daddy goodbye before he went to work and before we left for the recital. He did come to the recital, by the way…lol! He ran the video camera, and I stood over by the staging mat to make sure she wouldn’t bolt.

I couldn’t get her to pose by herself at the recital, so I got her back into her dance gear on Saturday and took some pictures.

This morning, we finally put the flag pole (that we bought several years ago) to use and raised our flag for the first time for Memorial Day.

The view from inside the house…

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day, but don’t forget the sacrifices others have made for our freedom.
