Photo Essay: Time for Some Fun!
Because the weather is getting warmer, but it was still supposed to be in the 70s today, Mike decided to take a day off and take us to the Desert Botanical Garden to see the butterfly exhibit. We then planned to have lunch at Red Lobster, and make our first visit to the shopping mecca of IKEA.

Lunchtime!
When we got to IKEA, it reminded me of the first time I saw Harrod’s in London. I was that excited. Shopping mecca! And IKEA and Harrod’s are the only two stores I can think of that I’ve ever been in that have their own restaurants. Gotta keep the shoppers strength up!
IKEA has what they call “family friendly parking” - which is a small lot that is right next to the building and away from the traffic to make it safe and convenient for those with little ones. And they have strollers painted on the spaces similar to the wheelchairs on the handicapped spaces. Just for that reason, I want to marry IKEA and live there forever. (Just kidding, but I did think it was a really cool thing.)
Here is the loot we got from IKEA: a small table-top ironing board to use when I’m sewing ($3.99); a directional lamp to add some light when I’m taking photos ($3.99); two bendable cutting boards that allow you to dump the chopped veggies into your pan straight from the cutting board ($1.79); two power strips ($5.99); and two black wire hanging planters for our new plants we got yesterday ($4.99 each). All that for under $30. Not bad.
LG is pooped. I love how she fell asleep holding onto her hair.

We can’t get A to the Butterfly Pavilion, we completely and totally wigs out. We’ve given up.
And we have no IKEA. Yours is the closest one to us and it makes me sad. Very sad. :( I loves me some IKEA and I rarely get to go. I agree, it’s in the same realm as Harrod’s and I love them both.
