Seven Reasons Why Karin Didn’t Get Enough Sleep Last Night

1. She decided to watch Survivor after putting Little Girl to bed.

2. During Survivor, CBS played some disturbing/scary promo commercial for Ghost Whisperer which she didn’t manage to fast forward through. If that wasn’t bad enough, they played it AGAIN later in the show, but she managed to fast forward most of that one. This caused her to have to stay up much later and watch more tv to try to get that vivid picture out of her head so she wouldn’t have nightmares.* She probably fell asleep around 12:30 or so.

3. At some point (probably after 2 or 3), Mike came home and let Melody out of her crate as he normally does, but she decided to bark at him in the living room which woke Karin up.

4. Later on (probably around 4 or so), after Mike put Melody back in her crate, Melody started whining and shredding newspaper, which of course woke Karin up again, but she managed to go back to sleep after awhile.

5. At 5:30ish, Melody woke up AGAIN and started whining. And whining. And whining. And stopping. And whining. And stopping. And whining. Karin managed to ignore it for awhile, but by about 6:15, she gave up and let Melody out of her crate and made a trip to the bathroom. Melody got a drink and then Karin drug her back into her crate and went back to sleep.

6. At 7:15, Melody again woke up whining which again woke Karin up. Finally Melody stopped whining and Karin went back to sleep.

7. At 8:15, Melody woke up and started barking and whining. This time, Mike came in and let her out. (Mike has been sleeping on the couch because of his snoring so Karin will be able to actually get some sleep which usually works but obviously last night, Karin was the one who should have slept on the couch :P) End of sleep.

*Did anyone else get freaked out over these commericals? I’m really torqued at CBS for putting them on during Survivor. I understand they need to promo their shows, and if they put them during a show like CSI or something like that I would totally understand, but during Survivor which is watched by a lot of families? Shoot, we’ve watched Survivor with Little Girl in the room before. And seriously, these were nightmare inducing commercials. And also, why is it necessary to put such disturbing images in these promos? Can’t they promo their show without making the commercial seem like a clip from a horror movie or something? I sent email to both CBS and my local station. The local station wrote back and told me it was a good point and that they would pass it on to CBS. So no idea whether it will really do any good or not, but at least I’ve said my piece.
