American Idol - Week 2, The Boys Are Back in Town

Here’s what I thought:

Mario Vazquez - I Love Music
He does work the crowd well I have to say. But he still looks gay to me. :P (Not that there’s anything wrong with that) ;) I know everyone thinks he is good, but he does nothing for me at all.

Anwar Robinson - What’s Going On
Very comfortable on stage. I love watching him. One of my favs. Made the song his own. Not easy to do it better than Marvin Gaye, but he came close!

Joseph Murena - Let’s Stay Together
Great song for his voice. Like him MUCH better than last week.

David Brown - All in Love Is Fair
Nice voice, but I am yawning. I just. Don’t. Care.

Constantine Maroulis - Hard to Handle
I love to watch him. He is just too cool. Kinda under pitch, but a great song for him. I love the rockers! Personality!! Woohoo!

Scott Savol - Never Too Much
What’s with the shades? No no no. He does have a good voice. But I’m still kinda bored and there were a few pitch problems.

Travis Tucker - All Night Long
WHY would you pick a Lionel Richie song? NOOOOOOOOO. And it wasn’t a good choice for his voice either. At least he took a chance and was having fun. I’ll give him that.

Nikko Smith - Let’s Get It On
Tug McGraw : Tim McGraw :: Ozzie Smith : Nikko Smith? Time will tell, but although I liked him slightly better than last week, I don’t see him EVER being as big as Faith Hill’s husband.

Anthony Federov - I Want to Know What Love Is
Not sure about the song choice. Kinda pitchy at the beginning, but he can sure wail on those high notes. I really like Anthony, but I’m kinda worried about him this week!

Bo Bice - Whipping Post
You always know whoever goes last is probably going to be the performance of the night, so I had high expectations for Bo. Great outfit. Good song for him. Performance of the night? You betcha.

What they have done by raising the age limit to 28 is actually to give this competition a new credibility. The level of talent is unbelievable. Wow. And they took what the judges said last week to heart. They took chances. They were themselves. They brought it.

My favs: Bo Bo Bo, Anwar Anwar, and Constantine

Who will get voted off? That is a tough question this week. I will have to go with David and either Joseph or Travis

Burger King: Cheesiest. Commercial. Ever.
