my niche
My whole life I've wanted to do something that made me totally happy. Something that I looked forward to. Something that was exciting for me every time. And, finally, I've found it. Being on the radio. I really feel at home…felt that way from the first night I was on the air. I've gotten a lot of encouragement from the other people at the station and that has certainly helped, but it just flows for me somehow. Sure, I'm not perfect, but I have a LOT of fun darn it! Two shows a week now! And I'm even building up my own listener fanbase. That's kinda cool. Must be something like Mike's band having groupies. They are loyal…and there night after night. That is extremely cool. Interactive internet radio is a great concept. To be on the air and at the same time chatting with the listeners really makes the shows have a life of their own. They evolve as they move along. Sure, I make a playlist every time, but sometimes things get added or moved around. Anyway, if you are of the mind to…check it out: Tues and Wed nights 7pm-9pm PST at the moment or 2am-4am UTC if you're into that time keeping thing. http://www.nekkidradio.com/nekkid.ram (put that url in your realplayer)
So, I've found my niche it seems. I have a radio voice. Who woulda thunk it? I did used to work in radio many years ago…not on air, but as a receptionist/sales assistant type person for a radio station in Flagstaff and later in Phoenix. I even did a few commercials for the one in Phoenix. It utilizes my talents…my knowledge of music…my ability to read out loud well…my humor…it fits me. I'm happy when I'm on the air…it's fun…and maybe it will lead to something bigger some day. Who knows?
